His work has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions, including the Mumbai Art Fair and the India Art Fair. Recognized for his contributions to contemporary art, he has received accolades such as the Upadhyaya Foundation Art Grant (202324) and the Hyundai Art for Hope Grant (2024). He currently lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat. Thambai’s art transcends passive observation, dissolving the boundaries between people and the spaces they inhabit. His immersive compositions absorb and reflect emotions, transforming architecture into a metaphor for the cycles of hope, despair, and inertia. By capturing the tension between human experience and structural forms, his work resonates with a fractured yet resilient spirit. Each piece
offers both solace and confrontation, shaping an emotional landscape where the observer is not just a
spectator but an integral part of the narrative.
