Masuram Ravi Kanth

Is a multidisciplinary artist known for his explorations of memory, history, and cultural narratives. Born in 1980 in Jangaon, Telangana, he earned his MFA in Painting from Hyderabad Central University (2004) and his BFA from MMK College of Visual Art, Gulbarga (2001).

His artistic journey has been shaped by numerous solo exhibitions, including A Reflection of Yesterday’s Truth and Today’s Imagination (La Réserve, Bordeaux, 2017), Slippery Memories: Unhinged Histories (Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, 2018), and Memory of Frozen Time (Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, 2019). His works have been showcased internationally and are a testament to his deep engagement with history and its intersections with contemporary life.

Kanth’s artistic practice combines painting, installation, and performance, often examining the relationship between the past and present. His works navigate themes of nostalgia, impermanence, and identity, drawing from personal and collective memories. Through innovative material explorations and conceptual depth, his art reflects a dialogue between tradition and modernity. He has participated in notable group exhibitions, including Tree of Life (Gallery Veda, Chennai, 2022), Chitram: Art Inspired by Indian Cinema (New Delhi, 2023), and NEWS THE ART (Chitramayee State Gallery, Hyderabad, 2024). With numerous national and state awards, artist residencies, and public art projects, Kanth continues to push artistic boundaries, offering compelling visual narratives that resonate across time and space.
