Pv. Gangu Naidu

Is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in painting, printmaking, and mixed media. He earned his MFA in Graphics (Printmaking) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (2012) and his BFA in Painting from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam (2009).

His artistic journey has been recognized through numerous awards and fellowships, including the Junior Fellowship from CCRT, Ministry of Culture (2023) and the Lalit Kala Akademi Research Grant (2015–16). His work has been showcased in major exhibitions such as Garden of Eden (Apparao Galleries, 2021), On the Threshold of Time (Art Heritage Gallery, 2018), and the Indo-Korean Young Artists Exhibition (Seoul, 2016).

Gangunaidu’s artistic practice revolves around Indian mythology and temple conservation, capturing the transformation of historical sites through meticulous detail. His Renovation of Temples series reflects his travels to ancient Indian temples, including Khajuraho, Mahabalipuram, Ajanta, and Ellora, documenting their restoration and cultural significance. His expertise in charcoal, ink, acrylic, and engraving allows him to create intricate compositions that merge historical narratives with contemporary artistic expressions. Through large-scale works, he emphasizes the preservation of architectural heritage, engaging viewers in a dialogue about cultural memory and artistic legacy.
