
V. Anamika
Is a contemporary artist whose work explores the dynamic relationship between perception, nature, and artistic process. Born in Chennai in 1975, she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts from the Government College of Fine Arts, Madras University.

Her practice navigates the boundaries between structured visualization and spontaneous creation, questioning habitual patterns through a fluid and evolving artistic approach. Her work has been showcased
in solo exhibitions such as More Than Once (Focus Art Gallery, 2010) and Leela Palace (Apparao Art Gallery, 2019), alongside numerous invited and group shows at prestigious venues, including the India Art Fair, Times of India’s Art of India, and Lalit Kala Akademi’s National Exhibition of Art.
Her artistic philosophy is rooted in the unpredictability of nature, allowing her work to emerge organically as an extension of his consciousness. Her I See What I Draw series embraces spontaneity, dismantling preconditioned thought patterns to reveal a raw, intuitive expression. By engaging with various mediums such as painting, printmaking, and installation, she constructs immersive experiences that challenge conventional ways of seeing. Her practice has been recognized with accolades such as the National Award from Lalit Kala Akademi (2014) and the Charles Wallace India Trust Award (201011). Through her exploration of form, movement, and perception, her work becomes a testament to the fluidity of artistic thought and the ever-changing essence of creation.
